The Rope and Anchor, Sarum Street, Poole
The Rope and Anchor is a traditional English pub, set just off Poole Quay next to Poole Museum, serving quality home cooked food and cask ales in a relaxed atmosphere. Based on Sarum Street, Daniel Jesson and James Keer will provide a very friendly and warm welcome! Whether you’re popping in for a pint, or a family meal, we’ll make sure we take care of you.
The Rope and Anchor is always a hub of activity – whether it is our famous Sunday roast, or one of our lively Friday night music sessions, The Rope and Anchor really does have something for everyone. We are disabled friendly, have high chairs for the little ones, and also have an outdoor courtyard – so you can enjoy the afternoon sun in one of our comfy chairs.
If you don’t believe us, we recently scooped the Best Newcomer Award at the Toast of Wadworthshire Awards in Somerset – so pop on and down to see what you’re missing out on!
Hot Drinks Served All Day
Up until 9pm every day, why not pop in and enjoy a hot drink whilst sat around the fire. Take in a newspaper over a Latte, Cappuccino, or perhaps just a nice spot on English Breakfast tea. We have a number of lounging seats on our top deck, alternatively, you can pull up a stool at the bar instead.
As mentioned, Friday night is music night, and we pride ourselves at bringing some of the best musicians and artists down to the Rope and Anchor. For example, the fantastic Chris Manning is always a regular guest – famous for his beautiful song-writing, BBC’s Fame Academy, and more recently, his incredible Michael Buble tribute act!
Top Rated Food
We pride ourselves on providing a quality environment to relax in – so not only do we have some of the tastiest real ales, we also have an extensive menu which we’re extremely proud of! But don’t just take our word for it, the reviews on Trip Advisor speak for themselves! Whether you just want to come in for a light bite, or you fancy a three-course meal – give us a call, as our quality home cooked food will certainly hit the spot.
